POTA GOALS AND MISSION

THE PROJECT

This website serves as a small database of research and discoveries surrounding the question: when did humans first come to the Americas? It evaluates a variety of archeological sites across different locations in the Americas. Included as well are some discussion topics relevant to the peopling of the Americas. It is a work in progress and is intended to serve as a starting point for those interested in the subject. It is put together by Anthropology students here on Treaty Six land in Alberta. We respect and acknowledge the indigenous communities of this territory and of all the Americas.

FROM THE TEAM

Thank you for taking the time to explore our project! We are a group of undergraduate students at the University of Alberta in the anthropology department. We started this project for the class Anthr 386 and a lot of hard work has been put into this project. We hope to see it continue on for many years as it gets continued by the next classes. We thank everyone that has worked on, listened to or touched this project. It has definitely become a passion project and a great source of interest for many of us. Not only did we leave this project with aspirations for POTA but we left with laughter and fulfillment. These people will be the ones that we think back to when asked about our Uni days. For those who come after us, thank you for carrying on the dream and we hope you guys make as many memories as we did.
