THE CLAIMS

While this is by no means a definite list of all of the claims that have been made over the peopling of the Americas; they are some of the claims that have garnered the most attention. Each site has been thoroughly analyzed using our evaluation rubric and criteria.​ The dates presented are BP (before present) where present is considered the 1950s.

Chiquihuite Cave

Findings from the Chiquihuite Cave site in Zacatecas, and Mexico suggest human presence during the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM), around 26,000 to 19,000 years ago, potentially extending back from 33,000 to 31,000 years ago.

 Monte Verde

Monte Verde, located in the Llanquihue Province in Chile, is a paleolithic site, characterized by two layers separated by Chinchihuapi Creek, the older Monte Verde I (MV-I), and the younger Monte Verde II (MV-II).

Toca da Tira Peia

 The dates of these samples from Toca da Tira Peia thus serve to rewrite history of Brazil’s human presence  with evidence against the Clovis-First theory, with the time of the first human presence in Brazil being pushed back from 10,000 BC to 20,000 BC.
